Metal Punch adds Amada Wasino CNC Surface Grinder
(Cadillac News, May 22, 2012) Cadillac - Take a piece of hair and look at it. Now imagine a machine that can take that piece of hair and precisely cut it into 1,000 equal parts. While that seems nearly impossible to fathom, that is exactly what a new piece of machinery at Metal Punch Corp. in Cadillac has the ability to do.
Recently, Future Products added a new Amada Wasino CNC Precisoin Surface Grinder to its equipment list at its Metal PUnch facility in Cadillac. The Techster-D3 model is a 3-axis CNC Precision Surface Grinder, with higher accuracy grinding at both low and high speeds. The machine's multi-work cycle enables an exceptional finish.
"We continue to make investments in cutting-edge equipment to ensure our customers receive a superior product with shortened delivery times. The addition of a second CNC precision grinder will allow much-needed expanded capacity in large component grinding, resulting in more efficient stock removal," said Irvin Swider, President of Future Products.
Metal Punch Corp. President Kerwin Huttenga said the addition of the new CNC surface grinder will upgrade their capabilities in the manufacture of high-precision die components and special tooling. "This machine will enable our company to serve our customers with the higher quality standards they have come to expect at competitive prices in the industry," Huttenga said.
Huttenga also said the installation along with training for programming and operating was completed on May 11, and production is already running smoothly. He added that Metal Punch will be seeking a tax abatement from the city of Cadillac in the near future.
